How to get there

is situated  at Farranfore and operates flights to Dublin, the UK, and Germany and is approximately 50 minutes drive from Tarbert. Shannon Airport and Cork Airport are major international airports. Shannon is within an hours drive from Tarbert and Cork is within 2 hours drive.

Most of the cheap airlines fly into Shannon Airport including Ryanair, Flybe and Thomsonfly who offer cheap flights to  Shannon. British Airways and Aer Lingus also offer reasonable flight costs to Shannon Airport.

Sailing to Kerry

Ireland is linked to Britain and Europe by a number of car-ferry routes. The main ports of entry are Cork, Rosslare and Dublin - Dublin Port and Dún Laoghaire, all of which are between 2.5 and 4.5 hours drive from Tarbert. The ferry companies that operate services from the UK are: Stena Line, Irish Ferries and Norfolk Line.

Rail to/from Kerry

Directions to cottage

From Shannon Airport you will be approaching Tarbert on the N69 from the direction of Limerick,  continue through Tarbert village Main Street and take the right hand turn which is at the bend in the road and just past the ferry road turn off,  this is the coastal road and woodview place, continue past the houses, and then the school (red wall) on the right for approximately 700 metres, when you see three bungalows together with large front gardens on your right hand side, the small country lane that leads up to the cottage is immediately past the last bungalow with the white wall.  If you pass a large garage/car service commercial unit on your left then you have gone to far.

If you are driving from North Kerry airport you will drive through Tralee and then Listowel and will arrive in Tarbert at the junction of main street. Turn left at the junction and continue past the ferry road turn off on your right hand side, then take the right hand turn on the bend in the road, this is the coastal road and woodview place, continue past the houses, and then the school (red wall) on the right for approximately 700 metres, when you see three bungalows together with large front gardens on your right hand side, the small country lane that leads up to the cottage is immediately past the last bungalow with the white wall.  If you pass a large garage/car service commercial unit on your left then you have gone to far.
